Mary Beth’s Bio
Mary Beth Barrett lives in Washington State, which has been her home for 20+ years. She grew up with a love of English and the Lord. While in Kindergarten, at an AWANA club, Mary Beth accepted Jesus. She has been a Christian for over 15 years, attended a Christian college, and led Bible studies for young women for nearly three years. She graduated from Northwest University with an English degree in 2023 and a minor in business administration. She is pursuing a career in the world of literature, hoping to become an editor for juvenile fiction. She loves reading, knitting, rabbits, and spending time with her parents and younger sister.
Her favorite things about Christ are the way He never changes and His unbelievable grace because
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us form the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? […] Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans: 32-35, 37-39 (NKJV).

Contributing Writer
Dakota’s Bio
The Lord has placed a passion for discipleship in my heart. I want to teach people to know the Word and cultivate their relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the past two years, he’s given me a focus and desire to help women who have been victims of trafficking and sexual abuse. I hope to start work in a human trafficking shelter in 2024 for an internship. I haven’t always loved writing. I had trouble organizing it, but as I got older, I realized its utility and improved my skill with the Lord’s help, growing to enjoy it. Not only do I like to write for SheBelieves Co., but sermons and Bible study lessons in preparation for the ministry the Lord is preparing me for. I am a rising junior at Regent University, majoring in Christian Ministry and minoring in Psychology. I also work in reception in a hotel. I am excited and grateful that I can pour into and connect with you through this publication.

Tess Lopez

Contributing Writer
Magazine Design Consultant
Tess’s Bio
Since elementary school, Tess has always loved reading and writing, zipping through novels and penning her own stories. Written words are her form of art. Some people can run on a creative tangent when handed clay or a paintbrush; she would do the same with a sturdy No. 2 pencil.
Having achieved a bachelor’s degree in English from Florida Gulf Coast University and a master’s in journalism from Regent University, it is evident that Tess’s affinity for words simply made a cozy little home in her heart.
Tess is now a freelance writer and editor for various print and digital lifestyle magazines. She also works part-time as the content and marketing manager for Grit and Grace Life, a nonprofit community for women. She lives each day in faith, believing that God is always enveloping us in His perfect grace and love and is working to bring us where we are supposed to be, even if we do not understand it yet.
In her spare time, Tess loves traveling around the U.S., stopping into coffee shops and thrift stores, perusing the shelves at Barnes and Noble for hours, and enjoying family days with her best friend and husband, Ruben, and sweet cat, Molly.

Klaire Smith

Contributing Writer
Klaire’s Bio
Klaire is passionate about communication studies, primarily the Gospel applications. She has received a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and a master’s in strategic communication, both from East Texas Baptist University. She currently works in the office of academic success, where she helps guide students as they work toward earning their degrees. She is also an adjunct speech instructor for ETBU. Klaire’s goal is to integrate faith and communication principles in her classroom. Klaire’s favorite part of working on a college campus is the unique and personal mission field it provides. Klaire meets and serves all kinds of students, teaching them communication principles and showing them how the Gospel changes lives. Klaire continues to follow God’s calling, pursuing a Ph.D. in communication studies from Regent University. Through this, she hopes that God will use her to transform the lives of college students for His glory.
Klaire is passionate about college-age students because college was the time in her life when her faith truly came alive for her. Before entering university, she was already a believer for many years. She caught glimpses of God’s perfect grace throughout her life. However, she grew closer to God more and more while at university. She discovered a joy for ministry and missions as He tested her faith and answered her prayers.
