Mama and I had a surprise waiting for us today, 11/11/23. It is only a setback. It is like life. You set out to accomplish some things in your day, but something goes awry. Perhaps you are not doing what the Lord asks of you. Or you are under attack from the enemy because you are doing what the Lord wants you to do. But it may not mean anything or have anything to do with you. Things do not always go as planned.
THE FIRST TIME AROUND

I’m thinking of the times when people, myself included, ask why bad things happen to good people.
Matthew 5:45 says, “…for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
THE SECOND TIME AROUND

We did not wake up to another mishap. Praise the Lord! Our second attempt (see photos above) worked out well. See the bubbles? That’s a good sign.
Today, 11/13/2023, We added 1 cup of dry ingredients – (1/2 cup of whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup of dark rye flour, combining them in the measuring cup and pouring them together into the same jar with our starter), and we also added in 1 cup of arrowhead water at room temperature.
We used a wooden spoon to mix it up. We covered the top with some cheesecloth. Now, it is back on top of the refrigerator until tomorrow.

We were confused with our results the first time around. After connecting with my paternal aunt who regularly bakes her own breads, we found out it would have been okay to remove the the overflow and use what was left in the container. However, he had already thrown it out.
We persevered through it, and now we continue on our journey!
Romans 5:3-5 says, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Come back to our blog tomorrow, for day 3 of the Daily Bread series.
